A quick pick-me-up for the “average joe”

In our society full of racing through the day, we often give the excuse that we’re too tired to workout. There is lots of talk in the media as of late about the benefits of caffeine. I’d like to let you know, caffeine, in moderation, really can enhance a workout. I never encourage a client to gulp down a “double shot” of espresso before a session. However, it has been shown that the slight increase in heart rate (as a result of the MODEST quantity of stimulant to the central nervous system) can aid in pushing through that extra rep. And as you may know, every single movement and repetition you do will burn calories and can even increase your cardiovascular endurance. Restating that a touch of caffeine is enough (equivalent to about one cup of “JOE” about half an hour before a workout), it’s a bonus jump start — or great finish– to a visit at the gym.
